CSA: Week 5

Today's CSA bounty was very generous. All this good weather must be helping crops grow healthy and strong....and lucky for us, we benefit from it!

This week's share included:

* Broccoli
* Zucchini (2 - largest zucchini we've ever seen!)
* Garlic bulbs (12)
* Eggplant
* Carrots
* Yellow beans
* Patty squash
* Onions
* Green onions
* Basil
* Parsley
* Pineapple Mint
* Jalapeños

I am very excited about the carrots. They look so fresh and crisp. The garlic bulbs are tight and small...very similar to the purple garlic we had in Portugal.

Any ideas on what to do with the pineapple mint or the beautiful lavender eggplant (what type is that??) ?

I would make mojitos with the pineapple mint. You could also use it to make a nice Thai beef salad.

How about making an nice relish with the eggplant?
